Introducing Retakee: The Perfect Tool for Capturing Consistent Photos

Retakee is an iOS app designed to help you easily recreate the same photo again and again. It might not seem like much, but this opens up a lot of possibilities. Let's take a look at a few:

Before/After

You can compare before and after photos of your new car paint, a fresh hairstyle, or how far you've come in your fitness journey. This is, however, just a direct comparison between two pictures. But if you're looking for something more dynamic, Retakee has you covered. Let’s talk about timelapse.

Timelapse

You might be thinking, "Aren’t there already apps to help create timelapses? Even the native iOS camera has one." So, what makes Retakee different?

Well, Retakee is designed to help you create timelapses that span weeks, months, or even years — without needing to be in the same spot all the time. You don't need a tripod or any special equipment. You can just snap a picture of a construction project on your commute when you feel like it, or capture your garden blooming and then preparing for winter.

But if you don’t want to wait that long and prefer quicker results, Retakee still has you covered. Enter the world of hyperlapse.

Hyperlapse

You may not be familiar with the term, but you've likely seen one. According to Wiki, a hyperlapse is:

In its simplest form, a hyperlapse is achieved by moving the camera a short distance between each shot.

So, you capture the same subject, but move between each shot, which adds a dynamic element. You can see an example of a hyperlapse on our landing page.

How it works

Retakee is the new kid on the block and is still evolving. Right now, it offers the basic feature that makes it all possible: photo overlay. This is the easiest way to get started. Now is the time to gather feedback and build on this foundation. I’ve got some really cool ideas I’m excited to implement, making these things even easier and more fun to use.
